Monterrey

The view over Maspalomas was magnificent, but the apartments are small and sit by a really noisy road.

The reception staff seemed not to care who was coming and going, and the rooftop terrace was a complete disaster. We stayed here some time ago only because nothing else was available, and it became our worst holiday on Gran Canaria. The beds were worn out, the linens were torn, and the chairs were old plastic ones. There were no amenities in the rooms, or you had to pay extra for them. The nicer photos are probably of the private apartments. This is unacceptable. You can't treat tourists like this. I could go on. Close it down immediately!

It was very centrally located, with a German bakery right downstairs. Our balcony only got shade, but we were fine with having to arrange our own taxi and bus to get home. We'd stayed there several times before, so that wasn't a problem. I was very satisfied and would have liked to book again this year, but unfortunately it was already gone. The apartments are with locals.
