Servatur Waikiki

The rooms were clean and got cleaned every day. They're a bit old, but good. Breakfast and lunch were good too; dinner was often cold. We upgraded from all-inclusive to all-inclusive +, which meant the drinks were made with the real original brands, and the cocktails were very good. The supposed 24/7 service is really 23/7. They say there's ice, but it's only in small ready-to-eat cups. So if you pay for the upgrade, the difference is in the cocktails, not the food or service.

We had a really good stay and would recommend the hotel for Gran Canaria. The staff were excellent, attentive, and the whole place was clean and tidy. Food had a fabulous range at every meal. All-inclusive drinks were fine, but the advertised 24/7 snacks weren't available. The rooms were clean and adequate, though basic and starting to look worn in places. You're close to Yumbo, if that's your thing, and about a 10-minute walk from the beach. For New Year's Eve, we went north to San Fernando for the public festival, which was great and had very few tourists. In my humble opinion, Tenerife has more to offer.

I paid €1,452.96 for six nights at Servatur Waikiki, and came away extremely disappointed. The rooms are very basic, cleaning is basic too, and it feels like the hotel is more interested in charging for necessities than making guests comfortable. The heating in my room didn't work. I was told a fan heater would cost €4 a day, and oddly, I'd have to pay for seven days even though I was staying six nights because that's the minimum hire period. I came from England, have a heart condition and get cold quickly. This is a disability, not some luxury request. Charging extra for basic warmth is appalling. Luckily there was a Lidl nearby where we found a fan heater for €7.99, but guests shouldn't have to go out and buy something that ought to be standard in the room. Even an iron isn't included in the room price. At other resorts where I've stayed, it's a basic room amenity without a cash deposit. Here I was expected to leave a €10 cash deposit for one, which felt unreasonable. The staff were friendly and the domestic team were lovely and helpful, which I genuinely appreciated. Still, even excellent staff can't make up for these frustrating policies. For what I paid, I expected much better standards and consideration for guests with health needs. This was a major disappointment, and I wouldn't come back unless they urgently address these problems.

We were a couple without kids, staying for a week. If you want an all-inclusive place to sit by the pool and relax all day, this works really well. It's not fancy; it has more of a casual family gathering feel, but we had a lot of fun. The rooms were clean and had the basics. We liked Colleen's stretching class and aqua gym, which gave us a proper workout. The gym itself wasn't great, as half the equipment didn't work, but it was enough for a week. Food had lots of variety and there was entertainment each evening, plus plenty of daytime activities for kids. There was good seating around the pool without having to get up early to claim a spot, and it never felt too crowded. The friendly staff smiled and chatted with both kids and adults. We were very happy with our stay!
