Sunny Bungalows Parque Golf in Maspalomas

Our Airbnb apartment was great, and so was the owner. There isn't sun in winter, but the pool area is spacious enough. A heads-up about the location: getting anywhere takes at least a 30-40 minute walk. This is a bungalow park, not a hotel. The buildings belong to different owners and are rented separately, so accommodation reviews refer to different apartments and booking sites. In winter, many older owners and long-stay guests are around, and some disregard the complex rules. People reserve pool loungers with towels, and cats, including one at number 23, roam without leashes; their owners don't clean up after them. There's no staff to help with guest services or deal with these issues. Staff are only there for gardening and the bins. A baker comes around each morning selling bread, and a water seller walks through on Thursday mornings.

The place was quiet and peaceful, and there was a lovely floral smell outside. Our bungalow was spotless and in impeccable condition. The pool looked great, though we never used it. The internet dropped often and wasn't reliable enough. Maspalomas beach is nearby, but walking there isn't practical. Take the bus from the nearest stop instead. Buses and taxis are very cheap.

We booked an Airbnb bungalow for five days in March during Maspalomas Bear Carnival, and it was so lovely and quiet that I've booked the same one again for ten days in September. I'm pretty sure the holiday campus is made up of privately owned bungalows rented out separately. We walked a lot, but taxis were handy too. They often come through the three separate golf complexes, and a ride to the Yumbo usually cost around 6-7 euros. In March, we never struggled to find a sunbed by the pool. In the morning a man sells bakery goods as he makes his way around the complex. Wait until you hear him calling out. There's also a small shop a couple of minutes up the road.

It feels like living in a garden, which is rare here, and anyone who's been to GC will know what I mean. The grounds are gorgeous, with three pools, one of them warm, plus a playground. This is one of the coziest, prettiest complexes on the island. I'd recommend bungalow 23, and Francesco, the manager, is the kindest person on the island)) It's quiet and a bit remote, so having a car is advisable.
