Aguere Nest Hostel

We had a great time on the rooftop with everyone. The staff were so warm and helpful with tips on places to go and eat. Matheus even taught me to dance samba. Such a great stay at this hostel, highly recommended! 🌟

The hostel's location is its one real plus: it's close to nice restaurants and a bakery, and gives easy access to hikes in Anaga. The staff were friendly when they were around. Otherwise, it was a terrible stay. The facilities were awful and poorly maintained, communication was poor, and there was barely anyone at “reception.” They let a homeless person stay in the room with the other guests. I asked several times to change rooms, but the staff wouldn't accommodate me. The toilets and showers were bad too. I feel almost lucky to have stayed here, since it convinced me I won't stay in hostels anymore. I strongly advise against this one.

I spent two nights here. The breakfast on the terrace is nice, but it ends very early, so get there on time or you could miss it. The bunks are fine, though the rooms feel crowded and the washrooms aren't close by. I didn't find the staff very welcoming. They could be friendlier and more professional.

The showers were the best I've seen in weeks, and the staff were really friendly. I was here for two nights and it seemed nice overall. Having to switch beds between the first and second night was a bit annoying.
