La Casa Rosa

This historic hotel is really cute, and the decor suits the building. Breakfast was simple but there was plenty, and all the staff were very, very kind. The room’s heating and air conditioning both worked well. We liked the rooftop viewpoint. It has a sauna, not a hot tub, and there’s a warmer pool below the property. The water still wasn’t hot-tub warm, and since it was a cooler time of year, swimming felt a little chilly. Street parking is available out front, though it fills up late at night. We could park easily a little farther up on the town’s main road. We were missing towels one day, and when we got back late, the staff had already left, so we couldn’t shower. More towels and soap in the bathroom would have helped. I’m sure the staff would have brought them if we’d asked, but we were always on the go and found it hard to request things. There weren’t wine glasses or a bottle opener in the room either, but the bar area has them, and Nancy or another staff member can get them for you.

We’d happily come back. The beds were huge and comfortable, and the rooms were excellent. We stayed downstairs with my in-laws because they needed easy access. Breakfast was plentiful, with the option to sit inside or out. January mornings were a bit chilly at 9, though the garden must be lovely in spring and summer. I used the wellness pool a few times. We only got to use the sauna once because there wasn’t anyone available to turn it on, and the hot tub wasn’t working. Otherwise, this would be a five-star review. Parking on the street was easy, and there are lots of places to eat nearby.

We were happy with everything. The staff were super friendly, and the property has so much care in the details.

If you want somewhere quiet with a special atmosphere, this place is for you. The hotel is so beautiful and quite unlike others in the neighborhood. It’s around 300 years old, with a lovely garden, terrace, sauna, and jacuzzi. Breakfast tasted great, and everyone was really kind.
