The breakfast has a great range, though the odd wasp may try to join you. Staff are friendly and diligent, and the beds are really comfortable. It’s quiet at night, with a pool that’s plenty big and a pleasant breeze coming down from the hills. A good base for a laid-back Ibiza break, with the option to head out and explore in a hire car now and then. A lovely stay for couples or families.

On our final day, at 8pm, the manager offered us a room with water as if that made up for five days without proper hygiene. We had spent those days waiting for a normal shower, and they seemed not to care that our holiday was being ruined. I’m a woman, and going five days without being able to shower properly, brush my teeth, or keep up normal hygiene was deeply uncomfortable. Horrible. When we raised compensation, they spoke to us in a dismissive tone and seemed to dodge responsibility for misleading us. We felt deceived and kept in the dark: they never warned us that we’d be without water for four days, and adequate support didn’t come in time. The manager said the problem would take five minutes to fix, though she knew it wouldn’t. There was no transparency or respect. I’ve stayed in hotels almost every month for ten years and have never had such a terrible experience. The hotel already had a known problem with the water pipes when we arrived. Our room had no water at all, except for brief spells during the day when it came through at incredibly low pressure. The owners should have stopped taking guests until it was fixed. Instead, they kept providing rooms and didn’t tell us, apparently hoping we’d stay quiet about being unable to wash ourselves or even our hands. These aren’t acceptable conditions for hosting guests. It felt like the owners cared only about profit.

It feels like staying in someone’s very cool home, and I relaxed as soon as we got there. We’ve just got home after six incredible nights at Cas Pla, and we’ll definitely return. It’s peaceful and serene up in the mountains, so you’ll need a car. The gardens and pool are well cared for, breakfast is simple but pleasant, and our room was clean and tidy. Everyone on staff was happy to help, then left us to enjoy our own space.

A peaceful little slice of paradise, with wonderful people and such a beautiful place to stay. We’ll definitely be back soon.
