We went back and forth between staying in Oviedo or Gijon, but in the end my gut said countryside, and I’m so glad we listened. The place sits on a hill with a stunning view stretching into the distance. Waking up to it was lovely whether the morning was foggy or bright and sunny. Breakfast was lovingly put together, and we looked forward to it every day. Our host checked if we needed anything else, though we already had everything we could want. They also shared useful ideas for the day, and were always easy to reach on WhatsApp. We felt right at home and would definitely come back. Hopefully our Spanish will be a bit better next time!

We picked this place so we could see both Oviedo and Gijon without switching hotels, and it worked out well. It’s an easy drive from either city. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well equipped, and breakfast was good. The house has that lived-in feel of a rural guesthouse, with friendly, family-like warmth. The host is informative and loves history, especially Byzantine history, which he knows impressively well. The cats were lovely company, too. Francisco and his brother are truly a treasure.

We spent three nights here. It was peaceful and comfortable, and Francisco was friendly and helpful, with some good suggestions for us. You’re close to Oviedo and other towns, but it’s also lovely to be out in the countryside.

The owner was incredibly welcoming and gave us great tips for the route we were traveling. Our room was large and clean, and the setting was peaceful. Breakfast came with delicious homemade yogurt. Great stay!
