The apartment has a lot going for it: it’s beautiful and full of character, with great bay views and an excellent location. The building has an elevator, self check-in with a keypad was easy, and the agency was very responsive and communicative. We had a good stay overall, but there were some comfort and upkeep problems. Parking nearby was limited and around €30 a day. Soundproofing was poor, probably because of the building’s age. We heard neighbors walking and flushing toilets, and one played loud music until 4am on the weekend. One of the smaller bedrooms had a strong, unusual smell. We suspected there might be a dead rodent behind the walls, though we couldn’t know for sure. The bedroom facing the bay seemed to have moisture issues, with mold staining and peeling wallpaper on one wall.
