Marisol Guesthouse

The rooms were clean, though the walls are so thin you can hear people in the other rooms. The location is great, close to La Concha and the Old Town. We'd choose Marisol again if we visit San Sebastian.

The staff were so kind and always happy to help, and that personal touch made Marisol Guesthouse feel like a home away from home. Our clean, comfortable room had everything we needed. It was quiet but still close to everything, and good value for money. We'd definitely stay again.

The location was the main draw, within walking distance of many important places in town. I stayed ten nights, and the reasonable price meant I didn't feel bad leaving the room empty for a couple of overnight trips. It had all the necessities. Service was friendly, but not especially good: I messaged to ask for cleaning and fresh towels, then heard nothing for almost 48 hours. They did eventually take care of it. The area can get noisy, especially with the windows open, but it was cool during my stay so I kept them closed at night, and the noise wasn't a major issue. For the money, it was a great value.

The room had a bed, shower, toilet and bidet, but no outside windows. Its location in the city was pretty nice. The AC was broken, though, so I had to sleep in 30+ degree heat every night. Service was okay: they brought some kind of fan and let me in early to leave a bag. Still, the lack of a booking confirmation or hotel receipt, plus an angry call to the booking service just to get the correct phone number, made the whole thing stressful.
