It's a quieter spot than the Bilbao location, and we slept decently. The rooms are a little smaller and it's less central, but there’s a coffee place in the lobby as well as a wine bar and restaurant. The Centro neighborhood is a 20-30 minute walk along spectacular scenery, or a quick 5-7 minute bus ride. Some buses come every five minutes. There's a grocery store around the corner, and the funicular and one of the beaches are nearby. We stayed here right after the Bilbao location.

They downgraded our room the day before we travelled in August, leaving us no choice but to accept. They promised a partial refund, but after several calls and emails, they ignored us and still owe us. One receptionist even hung up on us. This place is a shambles, and the management are dishonest. I don't recommend it. UPDATE: Other reviews suggest we aren't the first this has happened to. My impression is that they overbook the best rooms, take the money, then downgrade guests and promise a refund that never comes.

The room was good and very modern, and ours had a cute balcony. Just be aware the bathroom is quite see-through, so it doesn't feel very private. The hotel itself is cute, and the staff are really helpful. There's a bus stop right outside to get downtown.

The neighborhood is quite pleasant, but I felt deceived throughout the stay by the gap between the image of the service and what we actually got. The rooms are 11sq meters rather than the stated 16. Some have no window that lets in fresh air, which isn't clear from the photos. The TV is mounted insecurely on an unsuitable wall and could cause bruises or bumps. There's no cutlery, not even a wooden stick, by the kettle, and no fridge. Why ask for a credit card at check-in when there's not even a mini-bar? As several people have mentioned, the toilet and shower are separated from the bed only by semi-transparent glass, which is understandable given how tiny the rooms are. Disappointment seems to be a common feeling among unhappy guests. I don't recommend it.

In my opinion, Antiguo is a much nicer neighborhood to stay in, with a more local feel. This cozy hotel is at the other end of Kontxa beach, and getting to the old town by bus is easy.
