Pensión Aia

Paulo was a wonderful host. The room was really clean, simple, and just what we needed, with a big outdoor area. We’d absolutely come back.

The staff were very friendly, and the pension was clean. It’s an easy walk to the old town, with plenty of restaurants nearby. Our room had no daylight, though, and some guests didn’t use the shared bathrooms considerately, which sometimes made going to the toilet uncomfortable.

Our hosts were so helpful and accommodating, and it was clear they wanted guests to have a good time in San Sebastian. We’d definitely stay again. It’s a good option if you don’t need all the extras of a much pricier hotel. The room had its own bathroom and balcony, plus blackout blinds and two exterior doors with three panes of glass. We slept wonderfully, which we really needed. Everything was very clean. The location was convenient too, two blocks from the surfer’s beach and about an eight-minute walk to Old Town. There were restaurants, a laundromat, and a grocery store close by, just across the street or a quick walk away. Tip: booking through the hotel website saves a few bucks.

My mum and I spent the weekend here and would definitely return to Pension AIA if we came back to San Sebastian. We especially liked the kitchen area, where there were teabags and biscuits. The place was quiet, so sharing bathrooms wasn’t an issue, and they were close to our rooms. Everything was exceptionally clean, modern, and well kept, and the staff made us feel very welcome. It’s also well situated, less than two minutes from the beach and a 15-minute walk to the old town. Thanks so much!
