The staff were very courteous, and the regular bus into San Sebastian is a real plus. Still, we were disappointed. After a long journey on a very hot day, we arrived in late May expecting to spend four nights at the end of our holiday. The site was nearly full, but the shop, bar, restaurant, and even the pool were closed. I later noticed the ACSI book did mention the pool. The showers and washing-up facilities were poor, and there was no soap in the toilets. We ended up giving up two paid nights and moving on. This place could be good, maybe even very good, but they need to review their policies and pay closer attention to the details.

The pitches aren't all level, so bring leveling ramps, but the reception staff were friendly and helpful. Electricity was good too. The washing and laundry facilities were good, and the showers had excellent pressure, though the water could have been a bit warmer. Getting into central San Sebastian is easy. The bus stop is right across from the entrance, buses run every half hour, and a ride costs under €2 each way. The last one back leaves the Boulevard 19 stop at 10 pm. It's about a 10-minute drive or 25-minute bus ride to town. The restaurant and bar were closed during our two-day stay. One warning: don't let your satnav take you over the hills to the site. Go into town and come back out that way. Anything larger than a small campervan may not get through the other route.

The location worked out well because there was a bus stop nearby, with buses going up and down to town. We also had farmland just below our side of the campsite, where some cute sheep were running around. The rest was a letdown compared with the other four campsites we stayed at that week. We had booked a pitch with electricity, but there was just one hookup point, in one spot. We were too far away, and they had run out of extension cables. They didn't offer to move us either. The bar, restaurant, and pool were shut. The little shop closed at 1 pm, or whenever they decided based on the season, which isn't handy if you arrive to check in. The whole place is on a steep hill, tough going in the heat, though it might be fine in winter. The showers only had cold water. Phone reception was poor, and I'm not sure whether they have Wi-Fi. That's why we bring Starlink everywhere.

The bus stop to the city center is only a few steps from the site, and the showers are very good. For a night or two, this works as a place to stay because of the location, not the facilities. Book ahead if you can. It was full when we arrived, so with our campervan we were sent across the road to a parking lot. There were a few toilets, but the showers are in the main camping area, across a road. The pool doesn't open until early June. Even before summer, people on vacation might still like to sit by a pool, whether or not they can swim. There aren't any shared spaces, so you have to stay by your tent or caravan. We paid twice what we had at campgrounds in Belgium and France.

The worst part was the gardener using a gas trimmer to cut the grass right by our pitch. Stones flew onto our site, luckily none hit the car window, and the noise was awful. If guests are there, they should avoid trimming nearby, or use an electric trimmer. We were in a camper pitch far down the very steep hill, beside a sheep farm. It was nice in a way, but the sheep were loud. One sounded hoarse from all the shouting. The service block was clean, though it needs some repairs: a burned-out light, a broken lock, and the showers could use a warm enclosed area. The site is quite big, but there's only one place to fill drinking water and drain gray water. Don't use Google Maps to drive there. It sent us along a very narrow, bad road. Take the road from San Sebastián city instead.
