Camping El Rosal

There are lots of trees keeping things cool, and the showers and toilets were clean. Our dog was perfectly happy sleeping outside by the camper. The bay is beautiful, and the dog-friendly beach is a 10-minute walk away. The old town is charming and has plenty of great restaurants. A great campground in an amazing spot, just right for summer camping.

There are trees for shade, and it gets very quiet at night. The campsite has plenty of pitches beside a long surfing beach and a smaller beach for sunbathing. Some little shops and bars are within a 5 mins walk. Lots of surfers come here.

The easy check-in is great, with no booking needed. Just arrive, walk around, and choose your spot. We needed three and found room without a problem. Camping El Rosal is right by a beautiful beach and mellow surf spot, and the grounds are super clean with plenty of shady trees. Friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere, plus a small supermarket and a few restaurants only a two-minute walk away. We discovered it on a road trip to Portugal two years ago, liked it so much that we came back, and loved our few days there all over again. Surf, sleep, repeat. We’ll be back.

Right by a great surfing beach, though it gets very busy. The toilets, showers and sinks deserve credit: there are plenty, and they're well maintained. You can also do laundry with the washing and drying machines, and there's a freezer for ice packs. Nice restaurants at reasonable prices and surf hire shops are nearby. The restaurant is clean but not very appealing, and it seems nobody uses it. The rest of the site is pretty run down, with ragged pieces of fake grass around. The WiFi doesn't work. When I asked, reception just shrugged and said it was because there are a lot of people. The staff there were grumpy teenagers without good customer service skills. It's a hot, dusty tent area with tents packed together, a noisy road and beeping horns. Families shouted at each other and played loud music, left rubbish around their tents, and kids raced around on bikes and set off fire crackers at night.
