Hotel Luzon

The location was great and the price fair. It's a basic, no-frills room in a traditional hotel, while the hallway and reception decor is quite grand and nice. The room could have been cleaner. Walking barefoot left my feet dirty, and when I moved the bed to do some yoga, I found a very dusty floor with hairs and other stuff.

The rooms are basic and the location decent, but the reception wasn't available when we needed it, and the cleaning staff were quite rude. The walls are extremely thin, so mornings were noisy. We booked a double room but got amenities for just one person. The bathrooms need a major update too: bulbs hang out of the ceiling, and the shower door is almost impossible to close.

We had a modest but comfortable bedroom with high ceilings and a recently updated bathroom. It made for a very pleasant stay, with nothing too fancy. The place has the stately feel of an earlier era and a maritime look throughout its halls and rooms. Hotel Luzón is just off the main road into town, and the front patio and garden are lovely for reading a bit in the sea breeze. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hospitality was great, and the continental breakfast, comfortable beds, and excellent showers got us ready for the day. The internet was slow but handled email and messages okay, and there was only one power point in the room. This lovely old hotel feels like a time capsule of travel from another era. It's a three star hotel, but the stay felt five star if you're after something a little different from the usual. It's in the best location in town, next to the park and wonderful restaurants. We had a corner room looking out over the castle, park, town, and estuary. It really did make you feel like a time traveler.
