Hotel Gran Sol Ibiza

The team were so friendly and helpful, and you can tell it’s an independent, family-run hotel from the care they put into the details. We’d happily recommend it. We were a little unsure about booking a last-minute weekend here with my mum, but the beds were so comfortable we slept really well and didn’t want to get up. The bathrooms and showers were lovely, spacious and clean, and the housekeeping team kept the place immaculate. Breakfast and dinner had an incredible selection, with high-quality food and flavours. We strongly recommend half board. There are lovely pools and sunbeds, and a small local beach and the sunset strip, with Mambo and Cafe del Mar, are very close. Cala Gracio, San Antonio marina, the main bus stop and promenade are also within walking distance. It’s still far enough from them to avoid the noise.

We had half board and were very happy with the stay. The renovated rooms were modern, clean and comfortable, and the food was good. Our two teenagers felt at ease and really enjoyed the holiday. The staff were helpful and friendly. We’d gladly come back.

I’ve just spent 11 days at Gran Sol with a huge group of family and friends for my daughter’s wedding. Everyone agreed the hotel is second to none. I first came here 52 years ago, and I’m still coming back. It was another fabulous stay, and it won’t be my last. The bar, pool, terrace and lounge are all comfortable, and the staff are attentive. Nothing is too much trouble. Lunch and bar snacks are generous, tasty and very competitively priced. Breakfast and dinner in the dining room are buffet-style, and as good as what I’ve had at many four- and five-star hotels. The rooms are a good size, comfortable and kept spotlessly clean. Bathrooms are decent-sized too, with fabulous showers and no trouble getting hot water.

I asked for a room upgrade ahead of time. On check-in day, the official website showed the Single room at €88 and the Twin room at €128, a €40 difference. The hotel wanted to charge me more than €69 extra. That felt like a scam and a rip-off, and my friend ended up having to book another hotel. ROSSY at reception was the rudest, most dismissive and toxic manager I’ve ever dealt with. She was power-tripping and told me, “Do whatever you want, just contact Trip.com.” I’ve never been treated with that much disrespect. NEVER STAY HERE.
