El Balco del Llierca

Sant Jaume de Llierca is a peaceful little village, though there aren't many bars, and they tend to close Sundays and Mondays. There's a Condis Express nearby with really friendly staff, plus the butcher shop called "Queviures" on the same street. Besalú, Castellfollit de la Roca and Olot are all about 10-12 minutes away by car, and there are some great hikes close by. We stayed for a week and came away rested and disconnected. The apartment is small, but lovely and cozy, ideal for couples. Xaro was always quick and kind over messages, although we didn't meet her in person. It had a good range of things in the kitchen: ceramic hob, microwave, washing machine that worked perfectly, plenty of utensils and an Italian coffee maker we were the first to use. The fridge made a bit of noise but worked well. We were there in August, so didn't use the fireplace. The TV is small, and at first we thought it was broken, but it turned out to be the remote. We’ll definitely come back. The hostess was so friendly and the service was excellent. It’s comfortable, well located and ideal for couples. 100% recommended!

We stayed for two nights and found it a comfortable place to rest. It was cold when we arrived late, so we turned on the heating, though it was already there. You can also use the fireplace, with firewood costing €5 a day. The place has wooden ceilings, a washing machine and a hairdryer, really everything you need. The bed was comfortable, but the sofa was rather small and not very comfortable. They let us bring our Brittany Spaniel, thank you so much! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

The owner was lovely and everything was perfect. We were really grateful to have a balcony in our apartment. Everything was close by, including Besalú, Olot, France and Girona.
