Cal Xicot

The outdoor area was a lovely place to relax, and that cozy fireplace makes Cal Xicot sound just as inviting in winter as in summer. We spent the weekend surrounded by greenery and loved the spectacular setting. The last stretch of trail made it feel like we were getting close to somewhere with a special, almost fairy-tale charm, rather than being a hassle. The house was comfortable, and we'd happily return. Two things several of us thought could be improved: a dishwasher would be handy, and we really missed having a jug of water!! 🤣🤣🤣

There were 11 of us, and we all fit comfortably in the dining room. The house is bigger than it looks in the photos, with three bathrooms. The kids loved the games room, and everything was clean and well maintained. We used the sofa bed too, and it was comfortable. We stayed at Cal Xicot the first weekend of September, during the Olot festivities. The only small drawback was low shower pressure and having to wait a while for hot water. The house is worth it, and we'll come back if we can. The owner treated us excellently.

The directions on Google Maps are wrong, and at night it's easy to miss the small signs. The owners come and guide you there when you arrive, though. We had a quiet weekend with our group in a valley, with excursions and nature right outside the house. Everything was in good condition, and it has more equipment than you need. In winter it heats up fine, and there's cut, covered firewood for the fireplace. It'll definitely be one of my first choices next time I need a group house.

We were delighted with our Christmas stay at Cal Xicot. It's right in the middle of nature, and the place was very clean. The beds were really comfortable, and the kitchen had everything, so there's no need to bring anything. I'd definitely go back 😊
