The friendly cleaners, food and bar staff, TUI reps, and security team all tried hard to give good service. The location was handy, near a lovely beach, shops, bars, and restaurants, and San Anthony wasn’t too far by bus or taxi. The on-site water park was great, though it needed more staff during opening hours. A couple of times metal umbrellas blew into us in the wind. Thankfully my baby in the pram wasn’t hurt, but it was very close. The hotel is close to buses, which I believe came every 30 minutes to an hour. They all had air conditioning, but you have to fold the pushchair and hold your baby and bags to get on. The entertainment and exercise classes rarely ran on schedule. Food quality was poor and often cold, and one morning we even got green scrambled eggs. The hotel took nearly a full day, twice, to do basic room jobs despite several calls chasing help. For nearly the whole two weeks, our room wasn’t cleaned properly. It was very worn and badly in need of a revamp, nowhere near 4-star quality. As a woman alone with a 9-month-old baby and my four-year-old autistic daughter, they put us upstairs next to what felt like the loudest hotel in the world.
The main letdown was the room. Ours felt dated and a bit shabby, and needs updating for a 4-star hotel. That’s why I’ve given four stars instead of five. Everything else worked really well. The pool areas were spotless, the kids’ facilities were great, and there was a good choice of entertainment and activities. Port Torrent Beach is just a few minutes away on foot, with clean, beautiful sand and lovely shallow water. The staff were amazing. Paola, our housekeeper, was especially friendly and kept our room so clean, and reception dealt with all our requests quickly and efficiently.
The food was a real highlight: loads of choice, fresh and good quality, with a great kids’ corner for children who like to choose for themselves. Some dishes were questionable, but there was plenty else to try. Coffee was just okay, though a decent one for 2.50 euros suited me fine. Laura behind the counter was always smiling. The entertainment was great for younger kids, with less for adults, but seeing the children having such a good time was lovely. The Superstar DJ part was a favorite. A few things in the room could be better. I found dust, a toy under the bedroom stool, and a hair bobble on the floor on day one. They offer a basic daily clean if you want it, and there were no issues after that. The bin was broken and the bathroom light switch made crackling noises. The bedroom itself was lovely. The lounge/kids’ room looked less nice, with tiny windows, but we were out all day and evening so it didn’t bother us. The sofa beds looked a bit like hospital beds and had rust and dirt marks in the gap. We loved this family resort. It’s beautiful, clean, and well cared for, with friendly, helpful staff and lots to do both there and nearby. The Hippy Market in Punta Arabí on Wednesday was busy but worth the 45-euro taxi each way for the handmade items and art. Ibiza Town was great for shopping, especially branded clothing, and seemed to have lots of nice places to eat. Don’t let the few downsides put you off. I’d highly recommend it.
There’s a good range of food each night, and they try to accommodate allergies. Desserts are tasty, though there aren’t many that are allergy-safe. The pools are nice overall but a little chilly since none are heated. Big floats aren’t allowed in the main pool or the one above it, but they are permitted in the activity pool. There’s also an infinity pool on the newer, modern side, though it isn’t signposted. Our shower in one of the ground-floor rooms wasn’t sealed properly, so the bathroom flooded. One section of the hotel is very new and modern, while the main section feels run down. I was looking forward to the “carnival” entertainment and expected acrobatics or something, but it turned out to be dancing and singing. It’s the same three to six people each time doing different things, so credit to Paddy, Iona, Daniel, and the rest. Keep up the good work. It’s a shame so many activities are restricted to 16+, including band classes/workouts, Pilates, and especially water polo. I love the aerobics.
The entertainment crew are brilliant and give 1000% every day. The hotel is lucky to have them. The pool area is laid out well and very child-friendly, and the rooms are spacious with everything you need. We got back yesterday from a brilliant week at TUI Blue Aura. The staff work so hard to keep things clean and make guests feel welcome. Service at both the pool and indoor bars is quick, with a good selection of drinks and ice cream. The main restaurant has a great variety at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and there’s a kids’ corner at the back right where little ones can pick their own food. Everything was good quality despite the huge choice. I wouldn’t hesitate to return. Thanks to all the staff for a great holiday.
