Hotel Palau de girona

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean with a good bed. It’s handy for the autovia, though the road noise is noticeable. We’d checked in advance whether the van could be parked somewhere safe and even gave its size. They said it could, but when we got there, there wasn’t a safe spot. Our van was loaded with expensive things, and we didn’t feel we could leave them in it in this area, so my husband had to sleep in the van.

I had an issue with my room key, but they sorted it straight away. The staff were friendly, and the rooms have a nice view. Breakfast is a fairly cheap buffet with the basics: cereal, pastries, toast, juice, coffee and things to spread on your bread. I’d stay again if I visit Girona.

We left less than an hour after checking in. We’d booked Hostel Can Blanco, which is run through the Palau hotel, but the rooms looked nothing like the website photos. There were also male “guests” staying there who made the whole place feel very unnerving. The ground-floor bar restaurant looked okay, so I felt bad for them, but I’d avoid staying here at all costs.

Comfortable, clean rooms and fine for a brief stay. Parking could be tricky when it’s busy.
