Intelier Rosella Hotel by Intelier Hotels & Suites

The hotel has potential, and it was very clean, with lovely, well-kept plants and pool grounds. We could find a sunbed each day without rushing to put towels down. The entertainment staff were pleasant and did their best. But the food and the noise made this far from a relaxing stay, and I don't think it deserves four stars. Three seems closer. Breakfast looked decent at first and had a reasonable range, but the quality was poor. There was no butter, very little sweet food, low-quality meat, an inedible sausage, and juice that tasted like strong cordial. Breakfast is served in the basement. We skipped dinner because breakfast was so disappointing. The pool bar food wasn't great and cost more than nearby bars. On our first day we ordered two pizzas that were so undercooked we couldn't eat them. We explained the problem but were still charged full price. The staff worked hard, though they need more people, as there were often queues to pay. Our room was basic. Towels were changed daily if left in the shower. The maid made the beds, but didn't clean anything else, and I think the sheets may only be changed weekly since ours hadn't been changed. The ground-floor room was also very noisy. Each day, pool staff started shouting to each other in groups outside our windows before 7am, and I had to open the window twice to ask them to quiet down. Then we could hear breakfast being set up below, with chairs scraping around. One night a group of girls were screaming on the balcony above at 5:30am, and nobody said anything. We were woken every day and slept less than we do at home during a busy work week. The location is about a 10-minute walk to the start of cala millor, and I reckon 20 minutes to its restaurant and bar centre, or the same the other way to Sa Coma. Cala millor is much nicer. We asked the hotel to book a taxi to Cala Bona and were told it would take 20 minutes, but it still hadn't arrived after 50 minutes. It wasn't the hotel's fault. We gave up and took the bus the next evening. Taxis are hard to find around here, but the buses are regular and reliable. The hotel foyer is strange, huge and recently renovated but deserted. It has a big bar that's closed, despite the pictures, empty seating, a broken pool table, and some plastic seats outside where the evening music plays. If the reception bar isn't going to open, why not serve breakfast in the foyer instead of the basement? For an evening drink, you have to use the pool bar.
