I left after two nights and still haven’t had a response about my refund. The host was pleasant at first, but stopped responding after I explained the problems. I’d booked the apartment for a week in Sitges, and the place bore little resemblance to its photos or description: it wasn’t 55 square meters and was dirty, sticky, and in very poor condition. The sheets had bed bugs, the internet was too slow for us to work, and the air conditioning looked like it had never been cleaned.

Getting luggage up the steep, narrow stairs to the top floor was a real struggle, and there’s no elevator. The flat is far from town with nothing nearby, and I don’t think you get good value for the money. The “panoramic apartments” aren’t panoramic, and this one seemed closer to 35 square meters than the advertised 55. It was very worn, with no sign of investment in modernization. I also believe the photos were heavily altered with lenses that brighten or recolor them, and suspect some of the five-star reviews may be paid or bots. The owner’s update makes claims I dispute: we stayed two nights, not four; we asked for a 50% refund, not a full one, because we stayed two nights out of seven; and we left early because of the apartment’s poor condition, not because we didn’t want to stay.
