Xavier was a wonderful host, very attentive throughout, and gave us a lift both to and from Rabanal. The room was clean and really comfortable. A lovely stay.

We spotted Casa Pepa while searching for somewhere to eat during a motorbike trip. The rustic elegance drew us in, with the old building style and materials preserved and a few comfort touches that made it feel like home. Then the food was a great surprise: high quality local ingredients, beautifully presented, with a delicious mix of deep flavors, textures and aromas. The "cecina" with pollen and olive oil amazed me, its deep taste is hard to describe. I also loved, loved, loved the chocolate and chicken together. It was surprisingly delicious, and a way of using chocolate that used to be made in the region. Thanks to Casa Pepa for such a particular mix of sensations. I’ll definitely want to go back as soon as I can.

The ground floor room carries a lot of noise from people walking upstairs, so light sleepers should bring earplugs. Still, this rural hotel was a lovely break from the bigger cities. We visited Las Medulas, Astorga and Leon from here. It’s beautiful, with an authentic patio and delightful hosts. Breakfast was good, and dinner came from a changing daily menu for €15, with a la carte choices too. The wines were nice, and I’d recommend it.

The meals are just as charming as the rooms, and the atmosphere makes it easy to relax. Casa Pepa rural hotel feels like a step back into ancient times, with room names that add to the character. It made for a memorable stay.

Dinner and breakfast were absolutely divine, made with local ingredients and served with wonderful wine in a lovely atmosphere. Before we set off, Papa gave us apples and cookies to take along, and Laura drove us back to the Camino route with hugs. I can’t thank Laura and Pepa enough for creating this gorgeous place. Laura picked us up and drove us to the house during the Camino, and both she and Pepa were such charming, gracious hostesses. The house and rooms are gorgeous, beautifully restored and decorated with hand carved furniture and so much attention to detail. I absolutely loved Laura, Pepa and the house. A gorgeous oasis on the Camino. Thank you 🧡
