Hotel Horizonte

The staff were the best part, really friendly, welcoming and helpful. For what I paid, I’d definitely come back. It’s a decent low-budget hotel at a fair price, and my room was clean and tidy, with a queen-size single bed, fridge and private bathroom. A couple of things weren’t ideal: the mattress sagged a bit, the shower wouldn’t get warmer than regular warm, and the doors use ordinary keys that you have to lock manually from either side.

The building work next door was the main drawback. From around 8 in the morning, there was banging and general construction noise, so sleeping in would be tough. I stayed two nights and, for the price, it was fine. The room was clean and tidy, with a double bed, TV, fridge and small bathroom with a shower. The cruise terminal is within walking distance.

Street parking is free where it’s available across the island, which was great. The room had a fridge and fan, and the bed was fairly comfortable. There was some dust, as you might expect in a lower-star hotel, but it was generally clean and smelled nice. The first room wasn’t up to standard: the bathroom lights didn’t work and it smelled of sewage. Reception promptly and kindly moved us to another room. Basic rooms for a cheap, decent price.

We couldn’t recommend this hotel. The bed was uncomfortable, and the room looked artificially clean, but the pillow without its case seemed very overused. There was a very strong chemical smell in the bathroom that we couldn’t get rid of, even after leaving the window open for several hours. At 67€ for the weekend, you could get much better hotels in the area.
