Check-in and checkout took only two minutes thanks to the 24-hour reception. My room was clean and had a working mini fridge, but the safe didn’t work. Reception said they’d turned off all the safes. There’s a ground-floor sitting room with a TV and a couple of vending machines, and that’s really all. I knew before booking that it was far from the city centre. The walls are very thin, though. I could hear someone snoring two rooms away, so bring earplugs. There’s a bus from La Rambla to the centre, and a supermarket is within a 10-minute walk. The nearest restaurants are on the seafront, but they’re all touristy and not worth visiting.

Avoid this place. The man at reception was super rude. I think it must be the same guy mentioned in other reviews, because he kept shouting at my girlfriend when she came to visit and said he was going to call the police because she wanted to go upstairs.

The location was great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. They were very open to storing my bicycle, which was a big plus for me as a cyclist. Those parts would have earned five stars. But the bed covers were visibly really dirty, and the toilet seat still looked unclean even though there was a cleaning tape on it. I also felt like a child in a dormitory when I got a courtesy call at 11:35 to remind me checkout was at midday. The bins had no plastic liners either, so I was uncomfortable leaving dirty waste in them.

I paid a lot for the room, which was meant for two people, but reception wouldn't let my friend come upstairs to use the bathroom when I arrived that evening. Earlier, Mr Ciprian was extremely rude when another friend came to see me and asked for Wi-Fi. She had no roaming, and he refused to give it to her. He didn't even call my room to let me know she was there. In the morning, 30 minutes before checkout, she tried to come up and he ran after her, threatening to call the police. She came by another day, showed her ID, and there was no problem. I've never had such an unfriendly reception experience.
