The rain was coming through the window while we were there, and by then we were already struggling with the place. Finding it was the first challenge, then getting down the street and parking. After that, just trying not to cry. It’s a very old house, dark and honestly scary inside. The bed felt like a block of stone, with two smaller stones for pillows. The ceiling slopes across the room, so if you’re over 5'11", you can stand comfortably on one side but have to hunch or walk sideways on the other. Nails stick out of it too, and I got hit by them twice in different spots. The sink is tiny, maybe 3 inches, and you have to crouch just to brush your teeth. The shower gave us literally 4 drops of water, so washing took an hour and a half. We only stayed because we had no other option. I’m sure I’ll never go back.

The bed was old and uncomfortable, and there’s no heating in the room. The house has just three pellet stoves in the stairwell, and they switch them off at night. The electrical and plumbing work is shoddy throughout. The room and bathroom are so low that anyone over 1.70 meters won’t fit properly. The sink is only 10 cm wide, and showering means doing it on your knees because of the ceiling height. Honestly, I don’t know how a place like this gets permits. It’s a terrible place to stay.

I was sad when it was time to leave. From the moment I arrived, the house, its surroundings, and the owners made me feel welcome and cared for. It’s more than somewhere to sleep. This is the kind of genuinely human place that you and your companion remember for years, instead of another hotel or place that just fades from memory.

I’ve noticed the owners keep making improvements to help guests have a better stay. I’ve been here several times, and I always feel comfortable in the house. I’d recommend it, you’ll be delighted with the place.

Esther’s cooking is amazing, and Nacho is so nice. You can tell the team puts love and care into their work, and the service is fantastic. Highly recommended. I hope I can come back soon.
