Club Cala Azul

It’s a calm place to get away from busy cities, with nice people and refurbished houses. The quiet beach is about a ten-minute walk away, though the route is difficult for older people and children. You’ll need a rental car to see other places. I’d get full insurance, given the way people drive on the island, even when your car is parked by the road or in a parking lot! 😜

The price was good, but the rooms are small and only one had air conditioning. They promised to sort out the other room’s air conditioning, but never did. The pool is free to use, the bar isn’t expensive, and there are sports facilities such as tennis.

This was my second time at Club Cala Azul, a wonderful base for a holiday in beautiful surroundings. The apartments are clean, and the staff are friendly and reliable. When I got home, I realised I’d left two rings in the safe, including my engagement ring. A lovely employee went straight to check and made sure the rings were returned. I’m very grateful!

The location is ideal if you want to be far from civilisation, with a perfect sea view, and the apartments in the complex suit families. The kitchen was more or less equipped and there was a washing machine. The manager was very friendly and waited up for me until very late at night. The apartments themselves are very basic, with uncomfortable beds. Air conditioning is only in the main room, while the bedrooms have a fan. The Wi-Fi was barely usable because the signal was so weak. Cleaning happened just twice a week, there were no clear instructions on where to put the rubbish, and there’s no dedicated parking. Street parking is the only option, depending on availability.
