El Cortijo Apartments

A good base if all you need is somewhere to sleep while you explore the island. The room was clean and nice. There’s no oven in the kitchen, and the apartment has no parking, so finding a space each day was really difficult. The pool area is a little small.

The staff were all lovely, and the food at the attached Nags Head was excellent with generous portions. It gets very busy, so go early, and I’d recommend booking a table. The apartments are in an ideal spot and, while basic, had everything we needed for our week. We’ve just got back and are hoping to book again next year. You won’t be disappointed with either the accommodation or the food.

We had a nice stay. The welcome was warm, the convenience shop had plenty in stock, and we liked the Nags Head. The pool area is small, but it never got overcrowded and there was always a free bed. I’ve only given four stars because our towels weren’t changed until the last day, though the signs said they’d be changed every three days. It’s not a huge issue.

The pub and pool area were nice, and the reception and pub staff were friendly. Our sea-view apartment, though, was tiny and extremely hot, with no air conditioning and very thin curtains that made it hard to sleep. You can rent a small plastic fan for 2 euros a day, which helped a little, but a proper fan would have been better given the heat and the size of the place. Inside, it was very basic: glasses, cups, plates but no bowls, pans and hobs. I know it’s Ibiza in August, but for 150 a night, a few more comforts would have been welcome.
