Invisa Hotel Club Cala Blanca

For us, this was a three-star stay. The food was okay but basic, with limited choice, and we got bored enough to eat out for the last five nights. The sister hotel seemed much better for both food and overall quality, and if we returned, I think we'd stay there instead for its four-star amenities. That said, if you're after a reasonably priced all-inclusive, this place does tick the boxes, and you get what you pay for. Maybe we're being snobs: my 12-year-old son loved the food and was less keen when we went to expensive restaurants, as you'd expect! Just keep in mind that when the weather's bad, this remote location offers little or nothing to do.

I was a bit worried about our family holiday after reading some bad reviews, but everything was just right for us. The food was amazing, our room was perfect, and it was kept clean with fresh towels each day. Staff were always cheerful and helpful, and the entertainment was good. We had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday.

We spent five days here with our two children, both under ten. The children enjoyed the kids' club, where the staff looked after them well. The pirate ship pool was a nice, calmer option, and the main restaurant had good food with plenty of different dishes, kept clean and well stocked. The head waiter always greeted us warmly and stayed positive. Those were the bright spots. Most of the other staff, especially at reception, seemed negative and treated guests like obstacles. The gardens were well kept, but I never saw the manager walking around. If they had made daily rounds, they might have noticed the issues we ran into. Rules were not enforced at the pools. Kids were using the adults-only pool, and when we told the lifeguard near the reception pool, they said it wasn't their problem and directed us elsewhere. That lifeguard seemed to focus on towels rather than checking the pool, which was too deep for children. The other pools were crowded, and guests reserved sunbeds despite signs saying not to. No one intervened. I was sitting in a small chair while towels and sunhats occupied the beds with nobody nearby. The hotel is in a lovely spot with good views, but the rooms and shared areas need significant repairs. The rooms aren't soundproof, so at 10 or 11 pm, when shows and bars close, noise from returning guests wakes you. The main restaurant has nice views but is awkward to reach: you have to pass a busy pool, with little room to get by without being splashed. We won't return. The facilities need to be doubled for the number of guests, staff need retraining to be friendlier and take responsibility, and rules and consideration for other guests need to be enforced.

Big thanks to Monica and the restaurant staff for helping find gluten-free food for my six-year-old son. We just got back from a week here and had a great time. All the staff were really helpful, and we were both sad to leave. We'll definitely come back. Our transfer took nearly 90 minutes, so we got a taxi back to the airport instead. It was better and cost around €45. Check-in was quick, and we appreciated them arranging an early room for us. The hotel can get busy, and guests had trouble finding sunbeds and chairs for the evening shows, though the shows were good and the drinks selection was too.
