The receptionist was very unfriendly, and the kitchen is in the basement, where there were always long queues. We were also charged extra for drinks when we arrived, even though the kids don't drink alcohol. The hotel isn't actually beach front as advertised. Another hotel in the chain is on the beach, but getting there means walking and crossing the railway. I wouldn't recommend this place.

The pool is much too small for the number of guests, and during the day it gets so crowded there's hardly room to swim or relax. The most alarming moment was when a child drowned there. My mother had to perform CPR to save him. There were no staff near the pool, no lifeguard, and no immediate help from the hotel. That's a serious safety concern. Our suite had a nice layout, but the stove didn't work at all. The air conditioning in room 416 was unpredictable, sometimes working well and sometimes barely working. For the high price, I think this is a one or two star hotel at most. Safety, maintenance, and facilities need serious improvement.

The pool is tiny for a hotel this size, despite a sign limiting it to 40 people at once. Today at H Top Royal Sun in Santa Susana, a young boy drowned in the pool. My little brother saw him struggling and alerted my mom. A nearby man pulled him out, and my mother performed CPR. He might not have survived without her. There were no lifeguards or trained staff around. Staff were absent and unprepared, and now they're claiming they “don't know anything about the kid.” This hotel feels unsafe and misleading, and it wasn't prepared for an emergency. Do not stay here.

The food was repetitive and often partly cold, so we ate out most evenings. We were all inclusive, but only the “cocktails of the day” were included at the bar. That wasn't shown on the booking website. The pool was smaller than the pictures suggested, and although a poolside bar was meant to serve hot food like pizza, we were told pizza wasn't available when we asked, quite rudely. We came as a family of five. Reception staff were kind and gave us the information we needed, and our room was very clean when we arrived. After that, the cleaner didn't clean or make the beds or change the bedding for the rest of the week, even though we had paid for all inclusive. I wanted to take food out for my little one, who doesn't like crowded places. A staff member rudely shoved a sign in my face saying food couldn't be taken outside the restaurant. The rule is understandable, but his approach was unkind and not very formal. The place was nice and fairly sanitary, but the staff were abrupt and rude. I wouldn't return because it wasn't the all inclusive experience we expected.
