The apartment was clean and spacious, with comfortable beds, plenty of blankets, and an air conditioner that also heated the place. That was useful in chilly April. It had the basic things we needed, though I’d add a few comforts: there was no shampoo, conditioner, or shower gel. We arrived very late, after the shops had closed, and there was no bottled water. The guest information said not to drink the tapwater, even though I found plenty online saying Mallorca’s tapwater was safe. We had no other option until morning, drank it, and fortunately didn’t get sick. I suspect it’s probably fine, but the management company couldn’t give me a substantive reason when I asked. The location, though, is incredible. You’re right beside Cala Gran Beach, can hear the waves from the spacious terrace, and there’s a garden gate leading straight to the beach. The grounds also have a fantastic pool, which we had entirely to ourselves in April. Blissful.

We lost a whole day finding another place and moving there, then trying to get help from the local property manager, Incasa, and Bookiply, the company acting for the owner. They confirmed the apartment hadn’t been cleaned, yet still charged us 250 EURO for the one night we spent there. Everyone said it wasn’t their fault and refused a refund. When we arrived at night, there was no water, so we couldn’t shower after the trip. Maybe they forgot to turn it on. The place smelled damp and bad, and it seemed they hadn’t cleaned properly or changed the bedsheets. Worst of all, the air conditioning was full of mould and live bugs, probably cockroaches. When we switched it on, bugs fell on our heads and ran around. Our kids were terrified, so we had to leave immediately. The owner and property manager still wouldn’t return our money. It was dirty, smelly, and mouldy, and we felt they were trying to rip us off. Avoid at all cost unless you want your holiday ruined.
