Hostal San Francisco

The location worked really well, on a street full of restaurants and cafés and only a short walk from the beach. Getting here from Palma airport was easy too. It’s a very basic hotel, but it did what we needed: the room was clean and had towels and hand soap, though no other toiletries or hairdryer. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, which made things more pleasant. Clean, convenient, and well placed, it’s a good simple base near the beach.

We had a quiet room looking onto the inner courtyard, and the air conditioning worked well. The location is excellent, close to services, restaurants, and lovely beaches within easy walking distance. We stayed at Hostal San Francisco in Cala d’Or for three nights at the end of May and start of June, and it was a really positive stay. The rooms are basic, but fine if you’re not demanding. Everything was clean, the room was tidied every day, and the towels were changed daily. The woman at reception was kind and helpful, and offered beach towels if we needed them. For a simple, convenient place to stay in Cala d’Or, we’d recommend Hostal San Francisco.

Our flight was badly delayed, but the receptionist was very accommodating about letting us check in late. She was so helpful, and the cleaning staff did a great job. The room was spotless, with a gorgeous bathroom, and the price was super affordable. It’s right among all the great local shops and restaurants, and just a five-minute walk from the beautiful bays of Cala d'Or. It was the perfect vacation spot for us. I’d recommend it to everyone I know, and we’ll definitely be back. I can’t say enough about how much we liked it.

We stayed seven nights, and for basic accommodation it was good, you get what you pay for. The location is excellent, the staff are friendly, the room has a balcony and lots of natural light, and it was serviced daily. On our first night, a loud noise from the toilet kept us awake all night. We reported it the next day, and the receptionist had a handyman fixing it within the hour, which was great. Paying extra for a mini fridge was a lifesaver for keeping food and drinks cold during a longer stay. There were problems too: the bathroom smelled odd, the toilet wasn’t clean when we arrived, and there was no hand soap. The beds were uncomfortable, the walls thin, and the air conditioning didn’t work properly. My partner opened it to check the filters, which looked as if they hadn’t been cleaned in 100 years. We cleaned out the dust ourselves, and it seemed to work afterward.
