Inturotel Esmeralda Villas

Loved it!

We found cockroaches in our room, four or five of them, which bothered us a bit. Still, the premium villas are spacious, with two bedrooms, a large kitchen, sea views, and a private pool. The setting is lovely, and the bay is one of Mallorca’s most beautiful, in our opinion. It’s only a 1-2 minute walk to the beach. Breakfast was included, with plenty of variety and a lovely presentation. Several restaurants for dinner are also within easy walking distance.

We arrived on October 26th for three nights in a premium villa with half-board, paying €1262. We chose an apartment mainly for the kitchen, since we have four young children. On arrival night I put fruit, vegetables, fruit purees, and antibiotics for our sick baby in the refrigerator. It was noisy enough to keep the children awake in the living room. The next morning, everything was frozen solid and inedible. The antibiotic had frozen too, so we couldn’t give it to the baby. On October 27th, we spent the morning trying to sort this out instead of enjoying our holiday. Technicians came to replace the refrigerator and also fixed a faulty balcony lock. We couldn’t find a solution for our child’s medication, and nobody seemed to care. The service didn’t match the price. There was no water, welcome fruit, or anything else when we arrived. I know these extras aren’t compulsory, but at this price they feel like the bare minimum. There were espresso capsules by the machine, but no tea bags, no sugar, and no espresso cups, just large tea mugs or water glasses. The dish rack was kept under a broom in a filthy cupboard, so we couldn’t use it for clean dishes. There were no tissues or handkerchiefs in the villa, things easily found in hotels costing under €100 a night. These may sound like small details, but they matter at such a high price. The half-board food was poor too, and finding something suitable for an 18-month-old was difficult. I asked for carrots to be cooked thoroughly enough for the baby to chew, and it felt like I was asking for the moon. The resort is beautiful, fairly clean and well designed, and the villas are lovely, but the service is practically nonexistent. I’m also outraged that the resort staff have stayed silent. I never got a reply to my email.
