Inturotel Sa Marina

The rooms are spacious, with balconies and useful in-room kitchenettes, though the rooms and halls have an 80s feel. There are three restaurant options and three pools, including an indoor one. It’s also a short five-minute walk to plenty of places for lunch and breakfast. I’d recommend booking here.

Breakfast was a real highlight, with fresh fruit, pastries, hot dishes that changed daily alongside the usual choices, and a live station making omelettes, scrambled eggs, or crepes. There were breads, cheeses, cold meats, and several milk alternatives, including oat, soya, and lactose-free. They even had cava. Coffee was decent from the several machines, and the English Breakfast Tea was very good, though the teapots drip, so grab extra serviettes. It runs from 8am-10:30am and gets busiest around 9am. A few things could make it better: a place for guests to clear their own tables, takeaway coffee cups for the pool or room, and small milk jugs for tea or milk alternatives. There are two pool areas, and we could usually find a sunbed. The hotel says not to reserve them and actually enforces it. Lifeguards tag unattended beds after 20 minutes, and belongings can be moved. Most guests followed the rule, though some tried to hold beds for hours and later found their things moved. We felt a bit guilty when we went about 10 minutes over the limit one lunchtime after ducking out of the May half-term heat. Pool towels are provided, but we mostly used our beach towels. The only small disappointment was cleanliness around the sunbeds and side tables. Compared with other overseas hotels we’ve stayed in, those areas didn’t seem to get pressure washed regularly, and sometimes the floor was sticky and tables had drink marks. Recycling bins were around, though it wasn’t clear where aluminium cans should go. We had a wonderful stay in Cala D’or. We chose the hotel through Jet2 Holidays for its location, reviews, and rating, and it delivered. Our middle-floor room was at the end of the corridor, as requested. Other guests weren’t always quiet, but that’s not the hotel’s fault. We had one noisy evening from above, and reception dealt with it within minutes of my call. For anyone bothered by noise, I’d suggest asking for a top-floor room. The room was well planned, with a large king-size bed, meaning two singles pushed together, plus two single sofa beds in the living area for the kids. The TV had a surprisingly good selection of UK channels. There was balcony access from both the bedroom and living area, plenty of storage for unpacking, and the balcony itself had a comfy chair, three more chairs, and a decent drying rail. Towels aren’t allowed over the balcony. The kitchen was small, fine for sandwiches or a brew but probably not for proper cooking. We’d recommend B&B as we did and enjoying the breakfast. Overall, the hotel was a lovely base for exploring Cala D’or and the surrounding area, with great facilities and location.

The apartments were spotless and cleaned every day. We slept well on the comfortable beds, and the shower was amazing. I also liked the door from the bedroom straight to the balcony, which let me have a morning coffee without waking our daughter in the lounge. The air conditioning worked well, the rooms were soundproofed, and the nights were peaceful. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the pool areas were clean and well cared for. We’ve just come back from a fantastic week at Sa Marina. It’s only a few minutes on foot to town and the marina, yet it’s still a quiet spot. We ate out, so can’t comment on the food. Everything else was first class, and we’d happily stay again and recommend it.

The location made it easy to get around: there’s a bus stop right outside, a Spar nearby, and Cala d’Or’s beaches and restaurants are easy to reach. After a late flight, we could store our luggage and still use the hotel facilities, including showers and towels. We’ve already booked again for next year. The breakfast buffet had a huge selection, the pool area was beautiful with plenty of sunbeds, and the poolside bar had great snacks. Our room was spacious and thoughtfully laid out, with a massive bathroom, a soundproofed door, and quiet, effective air conditioning. Check-in was smooth, and I felt safe throughout the stay. Staff were warm, professional, and clearly proud of their work. Housekeeping kept the whole property spotless and paid close attention to detail. We’d give Inturotel Sa Marina more than five stars if we could. Everything felt perfect from beginning to end, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
