Som Suret Cool Hostel - Adults Only

Bedbug bites all over my body, like an added bonus. Never again! It looks like a good hotel in the photos, but it isn't.

The staff were friendly, the view from our room was lovely, and the pool wasn't bad. Those were the only good parts. I've never stayed somewhere this awful. Every time we thought it couldn't get worse, it did. The place doesn't look like the photos. The bathroom was tiny, with barely room to wash your face, and the shower was terrible. There were shampoo bottles left in it by previous guests. The bed was very hard. We got one normal pillow, and the other large pillows were really uncomfortable. The optional extra cover for cold weather wasn't actually a cover, just a duvet without its case. The room floor was only mopped, never swept, so it stayed sandy. There was no wardrobe to put our clothes away. Breakfast was terrible, with very little choice. The fruit was canned, and there was no other kind. Most days, ham was the only bread topping, with no cheese at all. It gave the impression the kitchen wasn't being managed well. But half board was the worst part. I've never eaten food so bad. It seemed hastily prepared, as if they didn't want to spend much on guests' meals. My boyfriend ate a spoiled egg, then spent the night vomiting and the whole next day shut in our room with food poisoning. We paid about 500€ for half board, then ended up eating dinner out every day because we were afraid of getting sick again. I won't return to this hotel or anywhere run by SOM SURET. Please look at your other options and choose one of them if you can. This place doesn't deserve even one star. TERRIBLE.

The location was good, near restaurants, and parking around the area was easy. The rest wasn't good value for the price. The mattresses and pillows were poor and uncomfortable, and we couldn't rest properly. The rooms need maintenance, including painting and cleaning, and the water at breakfast tasted salty. We stayed seven nights and never got replacement soap. The pool closes at 6 p.m., which made it hard to use after coming back from the beach. There are hostels with better rooms and service.

The room was good, the location was convenient and the hotel has charm. Breakfast was acceptable, but half board felt like a rip-off. I stayed four nights, and the dinners seemed like leftovers you just had to force down. There was little variety, and everything was bland and tasteless. The terrace really does have lovely views, but its bar wasn't open this summer, even in peak season. Dinner for half board runs from 7 to 9 pm, which is very early for me. Given the food, I wouldn't have booked it if I'd known. The pool is open from 10 am to 6 pm. Closing at 6 makes it hard to swim after the beach. Even getting a drink on the terrace was awkward: you had to go down to the restaurant, pay, then carry it back upstairs yourself. Great service. This place seems suited to Finns or Norwegians who eat early. Spaniards should avoid it, especially if they want to enjoy their holiday.
