The setting is what makes this place: it's peaceful and tucked away in the mountains, perfect if you want to get away from everything. The rooms and service were fine, and everything worked, though the bartender was grumpy. Food was a letdown. The resident cook made one fresh dish each day, simple but done well, while the rest came from the freezer. There weren't many guests and it was the end of the season, which may explain it, but the menu looked as if it had been in use all summer, so I suspect this is normal. We were also disappointed to find the spa closed, and never learned why. The outdoor pool was clean but too cold. Maybe the spa only opens in winter, but if so, the website should say that. A pleasant stay, with room to be much better.

There aren't any services nearby, so bring what you'll need. The closest shop is at least a 20-minute drive away. The place itself was nice and traditional, with everything we needed. The indoor pool could use a proper clean, and the jacuzzi didn't always work 😬. The restaurant, bar and terrace were nice, though, and service was available most of the day and evening. It's a beautiful mountain setting.

The night sky here is incredible, with no light pollution, and the scenery just up the road is stunning. It's a bit of a drive to reach the place in the Park, but I thought it was well worth it. Breakfast and dinner are served too.

The river is close by, which I loved since I'm into fishing, and being surrounded by nature is just my kind of place. I'm really glad I chose it. My only real gripe was the poor mobile signal. Everything else worked properly.

The food was all frozen and average at best. The walls are thin too, I could hear around eight different people snoring.
