Ona Las Rosas

The reception gentleman was very kind when the parking was completely full on our evening arrival. He moved his own car so I could park in front of the hotel. Finding somewhere else nearby also looked difficult, as people from other apartment buildings seemed to park there too. Our apartment was spacious, with two rooms, two floors and a terrace, and was well equipped. The building is in the second row of hotel buildings, so the ocean view isn’t great, though the mountain view is still good. The apart hotel isn’t especially new, but it’s well maintained and left a good overall impression.

The hills nearby come with beautiful views, but they can be hard work with pushchairs, small children or if you’re feeling lazy. Luckily, taxis are available. It’s a romantic area, with plenty of nice evening walks to the sea or marina. There are lots of bars and restaurants, mostly aimed at adults, and no real clubbing scene for younger adults. Los Rosas is a great self-catering hotel, with a lovely terrace for relaxing and a pool for swimming and sunbathing. People tend to leave towels on loungers all day, though, so get there early if you want to relax by the pool.

The pool is huge and heated, and everyone at the bar and restaurant was really friendly. Our apartment had a stunning ocean view, and the staff were lovely. One unsettling thing happened at 7AM on Saturday: a man wearing a baklava tried the terrace door to get into our apartment. I startled him and he ran off, so make sure the door is locked. After I reported it, I saw a security guard walking around each evening. That made me feel they really took safety seriously. Well done, and thank you.

There are quite a few hills around, but buses and taxis serve the area well. It’s a lovely place to come for a break.
