Apartamentos Vigilia Park

The location was handy, close to Lidl, other shops, bars and restaurants, with a bus stop and taxi stand nearby. The rooftop was great for sunbathing, and there was usually space by the loungers since people didn't seem to reserve them much. It has a pool and bar up there, as well as a jacuzzi and tiny kids' pool. There's another pool on the ground floor. The rooftop bar was good for lunch or a snack, and the staff there were particularly pleasant. Our room wasn't one of the better ones for views, but it did the job. The safety box was €21 for the week. Internet was incredibly slow and basic tasks took ages, though browsing sometimes worked okay. Breakfast was a disappointment at nearly 11 euros, as it wasn't very nice. We had a very pleasant stay in this 2-3 star hotel, with reasonable convenience and expectations. All in all, an okay experience.

We enjoyed our stay, and the apartment suited our budget self-catering family holiday. It was spacious and clean, with comfortable beds. The balcony looked onto a street and other buildings, which didn't bother us. The bathroom had a roomy shower with both rainfall and regular heads. It took a while for the water to heat up, but that wasn't an issue for us. The arrival was easy: the woman who greeted us was lovely and explained everything, and the housekeeping staff were pleasant and polite. WiFi was slow, with an upgrade option, but we didn't take it. The apartments face a small shopping mall, and the sound sometimes echoed in the evenings. That's not the apartments' fault, and they do have a noise policy. The pool areas were clean. We mostly used the lower pool, which gets morning sun and afternoon shade, just right for our family. The pools are very deep, though there's a tiny children's pool on the fourth floor, along with a hot tub. Inflatables aren't allowed unless someone can't swim, in which case armbands and rubber rings are permitted. One of our family members couldn't swim, but we were initially told no inflatables. Once the lifeguard realized, they apologized and allowed them, which we thought was very polite. There are gym and sauna facilities, though we didn't use them, and a breakfast bar we also chose not to use.

The apartment was clean, spacious and had two bedrooms. It was well set up for a baby or toddler, with a travel cot, baby bath and high chair provided free, all clean and well cared for. Staff were very friendly, and the location made shopping easy, with Lidl nearby, a bus stop close and several restaurants within walking distance. We opted for bed and breakfast, and the breakfast choices were decent. The pool areas were clean, although the baby and kids' pool was pretty chilly. My main downside was the bedroom windows facing the corridor. People coming and going could be noisy at times, and the building shape makes the sound echo.

The staff were all friendly and cheerful, and when our boiler shorted out, someone came to fix it right away. We liked the ground-floor pool because it was free of children, and the upper sun terrace has amazing views. Breakfast was simple, though it could have had pastries and melon more often. The coffee machine makes decent coffee. A great base for a week away with friends, and I'd recommend it.
