A few days before our trip, the hotel cancelled our reservation with a pleasant message saying it was due to "overbooking". We'd booked several weeks ahead :(
8/10
The place and staff were nice, and everything was clean and comfortable. The location is convenient, between Santillana and Suances.
10/10
The host was great, and the place is nicely decorated and well located.
6/10
The grounds are gorgeous, with a lovely garden and porch, and the room is spacious with charming decorative touches. But the bedding and bathroom fittings weren't very clean. They leave a one-liter bottle of shower gel along with travel-size shampoos, which felt a bit odd. Breakfast is €10 per person, and it was packaged pastries, stale fruit, and very little variety if you arrived late and didn't get there in time. The location is good, but there's no mobile signal and the free Wi-Fi doesn't work. For this area and these services, it's expensive. I wouldn't stay again.
10/10
The setting made it easy to slow down, with mountain quiet all around and villages nearby to explore. We spent seven days here and felt at home. The inn has plenty of lovely spaces for lounging, watching TV, or taking a walk. The couple looking after us were kind, attentive, and so welcoming. We'd happily come back.
