The nuns were cheerful and even spoke a little English. Breakfast was continental and quite adequate, with good coffee. The hotel is basic but nice and clean, with everything you need. The water was lovely and hot. There’s no air conditioning, so we just left the window open.

We loved the historical feel and how sweet the nuns were. The food was amazing, the beds comfortable, and the rooms very clean.

It’s 4.30 am and I’m lying here cold. The central heating is off, and the sheets and two blankets are so thin they might as well be newspaper. I’ve got a woolen beanie and a T shirt on and I’m still freezing. The room is incredibly basic, and this cost me €40? I can hear the person next door snoring, along with showers and doors closing.

I had bunk 38, and the shared meal served by the nuns in their habits was an interesting experience. In the morning, all the exits were locked, so getting out was a problem. I left through the fire escape.

Dinner and breakfast were both pretty poor, and I was overcharged on the bill. Check your bill, and I’d eat somewhere else.
