We enjoyed the pool activities led by the entertainment lady on the one afternoon we managed to find a lounger. The pool area has a really nice setting, but we gave up trying and went to the fantastic beach, a short walk away. Guests were claiming loungers with towels at dawn, then leaving them empty until late afternoon while they went to the beach. We saw plenty already reserved by 08:50, with nobody using them. It felt selfish. I spoke to the hotel manager, who seemed to accept it was happening and offered no solution except that we could do the same or move someone's towel and risk a confrontation. The hotel could put up signs and monitor the loungers, taking towels to reception when beds are left unused, as other hotels do. We stayed seven nights on half board in the second week of August. The food was average, but the drinks were below average. We tried the drinks package once: the beer was flat and almost seemed watered down, the wine was low quality, and the breakfast coffee was dreadful. There was no coffee offered with dinner. The cocktails we paid for at the hotel bar in the evening were great. Avoid the shower in room 324, it's a safety risk. The cubicle is so tiny that it's impossible to bend or move around without getting bruised or knocked against the sharp edges of the soap tray. I also accidentally hit the shower control while adjusting the water, turning it to steaming hot against my skin.

We were lucky with the weather during our 11 nights here at the beginning of September. Swimming in the sea was wonderful, with amazing blue, clear water, although there's not much to see snorkeling. The beach was lovely, the hotel clean, and the seafront fab. Restaurant staff were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and happy. I wasn't pleased to be charged for the room safe. There's a great pint of Guinness at Halleys bar, just a two-minute walk away. This area is beautiful and we'd definitely return. Thankyou Santo Tomas for a great holiday. We feel refreshed.

One person's attitude left us with a bad impression of an otherwise pleasant stay. We were a family of four with two rooms. All the other bartenders were happy to serve us with a smile, but one lady, who I believe is the head waitress, named Besanel, rolled her eyes rudely several times when I asked for two or three coffees or drinks. We were there for seven days at an all inclusive hotel, so guests shouldn't feel uncomfortable requesting part of the service they're paying for. I think management should look into it, because that behavior can overshadow an otherwise wonderful experience. Apart from that, the hotel and the rest of the staff were excellent. It was clean, our modern and comfortable rooms were cleaned daily without any problems, and the food was good with plenty of options each day. The restaurant service was excellent, and most of the bar staff were friendly and welcoming.

We went all inclusive and thought it was well worth it. The staff were welcoming and friendly. A special mention to the lovely lady who ran the Movie Quiz: her energy and passion made it so much better. If you want a pool lounger, get one early, as they get claimed quickly.
