Casas La Xiuca

Carlos, the owner, was friendly and very attentive, and we’d definitely return. We spent a week in this cozy, clean detached house surrounded by nature, about 20 minutes from central Oviedo. The rustic decor has some bright pops of color, and the place had everything we needed. The mattresses were just right.

The house was great, and the area was quiet and well placed. We brought our dogs along and had no issues.

I stayed in the Carlos apartment for two nights over a long weekend. It’s been renovated, has cozy decor, and is well equipped. The heating worked so well I had to switch it off. The wooden floor, though, creaked a lot at night, and I missed a few welcoming touches that I think would add value without costing much. On arrival I wasn’t keen on the location: it’s right beside the road, with little around apart from a nearby bar and tobacconist’s that you can reach on foot along the road. Still, it’s a useful base for getting around the area and taking excursions.

A very good place to stay, close to the trial area. I’d recommend it.
