Hotel Juan De La Cosa

The place is nicely kept and in a great location, neither too old nor too modern. But our stay was miserable because there were so many moskitos in the room. We couldn't sleep and kept getting bitten. There were moskitos stains all over the room, which made it seem like people were constantly fighting them. We visited in mid October and didn't expect this. I know it can't be controlled, but if we'd known, we'd have bought some anti moskitos stuff.

The hotel staff were wonderful with our camp group. The kids were a bit naughty, but everyone was patient, comprehensive, and accommodating. The kitchen team was awesome, and their lemon mousse alone is worth a visit. I can confidently say it's the best in the world, so order it if you go. It's absolutely worthy.

We spent a month at Juan de la Cosa Hotel on Berria Beach and couldn't bear to leave. The rooms were spotlessly clean and had breathtaking views, the food was beautiful, and the staff throughout the hotel were attentive, thoughtful, efficient, and friendly. The cleaning ladies, restaurant and bar teams, and welcoming reception staff are a credit to the hands-on owners. The setting right on the beach is incredible, with fantastic views, 2km of clean sand, and a beautiful ocean. It was one of the best experiences of our lives, a paradise for relaxing, walking, swimming, surfing, and connecting with nature. It's good for body and soul. The hotel is a jewel in the crown of Cantabria, perfect for a beach retreat or as a base for reaching Northern Spanish towns, villages, and beaches, as well as experiencing local Fiestas and culture. The welcome is the best. We can't wait to return.

The hotel is excellent for location, just two seconds from the beach, and there are lots of good restaurants around. The hotel restaurant is very good, as is the cafeteria. If you need to buy food or other things, though, you'll need a car since the nearest store is a five-minute drive away. The rooms were very good, but there aren't enough sockets. Service was also very good, and all the workers were super nice except at the cafeteria. It was okay, but they often forgot things, like putting salad in a sandwich when I asked for none. I highly recommend this hotel.
