Watsay Surf House

I came planning to stay one night and wound up there for more than a week. The hostel and surf school are great, and the beach is only a minute's walk away. It's easy to meet people if you're travelling alone, whether in surf lessons or in one of the many outdoor areas. Most guests when I was there seemed to be 20 to 30, and it was easy to join dinner plans or go out in the evening. The staff are super friendly and help with anything you need. I went by myself and ended up making so many friends. Everyone was relaxed and lovely, and I had such a good time. It was my first time surfing in my thirties, and most of the people there then were around my age. In the afternoons Oscar would take us to places like a hidden beach or even a cave! 😱 We'd have dinner together in the school canteen, then wait for every surfer so we could all head out for a beer at one of the great chiringuitos on the beach. I'll always treasure the experience and keep thinking about when I can return.

Mejor imposible! The best surf school and camp in Berria. Pepe was such a great host. We arrived late on Friday night, much later than planned, but he waited for us, showed us around and gave the two of us a room to ourselves. It had two bunk beds, four mattresses, and a bathroom. The rooms are cozy, and the whole place was extremely clean. They gave us two clean towels, one for the body and one for the face. We booked the package with breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus two-hour surf lessons each day and use of the wetsuit and board for the rest of the day. The price for Saturday and Sunday was quite fair. The food was amazing, homemade by Pepe's family. Oscar is a very good teacher who helps you through the hard process of learning to surf, points out what you can improve and works on it with you in the lessons. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back as soon as we can. Thank you guys! Mil gracias 😊

Best stay so far! I was lucky enough to check in early 🙌🏼. It was exceptionally clean and quiet, just what I needed for a beach reset.
