Ramón Park-Hotel

My son and I were walking the Santiago de Compostela route in a 40-degree heatwave, and arrived at reception sweaty, tired, and looking pretty worn out. The receptionist took one look at us and said she’d speak to her manager. A few minutes later she came back to say there were no rooms left. We never got past reception, and suddenly I felt like a hobo.

The staff are lovely and welcoming, and the location is fine. Still, you can hear everything between the first and third floors in this old hotel. Breakfast was the biggest letdown for a four-star place: if you get up late, there’s just fruit, coffee, and stale croissants, and the food is the same every day. I hope they improve it.

The family who own the hotel treat you like another member of the family, which made for a great experience. My wife and I had a great weekend, with good food and a nice room. The antique car collection was fascinating, and it was fun to be in Pep Guardiola’s home town. We recommend it.

Dinner was tasty, and the dessert trolley they bring to the table lets you choose what you want. The à la carte prices felt quite high for the quality, though, and the restaurant only opens from 20:00 to 23:00. This is a very nice, quiet-area hotel in Catalunya, with large, clean rooms. There are interesting veteran cars and musical instruments in the entrance hall. It seems to be well known, judging by all the photos of the owners and famous football and basketball players in the restaurant.
