I booked a room at Apartamentos Granxola weeks ahead using a valid card. The owner called on the morning of check-in while I was asleep. I called back as soon as I saw it, no more than 30 minutes later, and was told the reservation had been canceled because my card had “declined.” That surprised me, since the card had been working elsewhere without any problem. I was already in Sanxenxo and offered to pay with another card, but they said no and told me I’d have to make a new reservation for the exact same room, paying an extra €100. The abrupt cancellation and higher price felt less like a technical problem and more like an attempt to get extra money. I was left stranded in a tourist-heavy town with few last-minute options. I wouldn’t recommend booking here unless you’re prepared for sudden changes and unclear policies. Future travelers, proceed with caution.

A lovely spot for a few days by the beach, with excellent service and a bathroom for every room. You can see the sea from the Magpies.

We got the penthouse, which was spacious and clean and had a fairly large terrace. The location is excellent, very close to Silgar beach, and the area gets quiet at night so you can sleep well. The downside is that the furniture is very old and could do with an update, especially in the bathroom.

The bedrooms were quiet and well insulated, and the staff were attentive and available. The apartment had good-sized rooms apart from the narrow kitchen. Beds were comfortable, and there were bath towels and kitchen towels. It’s on the second line from the sea, about 200 m from the beach on foot. Private parking costs €10 per day. There’s a large fridge with freezer, a washing machine and dishwasher, and a clothes rack with pegs. The only real downside was that some kitchen utensils were old. The stove worked well, but there was no hand blender or coffee machine.
