Just okay.

The bathroom has no light, and a candle would do a better job. The shower is either cold or scalding, and the water barely comes out. The tap looks older than the hotel. There’s no air conditioning, even though it gets hot, and no fridge for keeping drinks cold. The pool is accessed from the street, and it was full of sand, bugs, and hair. On top of that, the service was awful. They accused me of stealing clothes from the room and charged my card without my consent, using the details from the card I paid with. When I explained what happened, they wouldn’t listen or accept any reason. I’ve never had an experience like it, despite spending eleven months of the year in hotels for work. I can’t recommend this place.

The whole third floor has been without air conditioning since at least June 29. I booked a room with it, but was told they were waiting for a part and had no idea when it would arrive. I paid the price for a room without air conditioning, of course, but the heat is still hard to put up with. What I can’t accept is arriving to find out that’s just how things are and being expected to make do. Couldn’t they let guests with reservations for air-conditioned rooms know it had been out for a week? We all want to make money, but not by misleading people.

We were very comfortable here. Sanxenxo and Portonovo are both about a 10-minute walk away, since the hotel sits between them. In mid-September there were plenty of places to park nearby, though the hotel also has parking for €8 a day until the end of your reservation. The rooms come with free Wi-Fi, a TV, and a small balcony with two chairs. Downstairs by reception, there’s a lovely, clean breakfast room. I didn’t notice special dietary options, so it’s best to check with the hotel in advance. Highly recommended.
