Albergue Internacional

I was skeptical of the name Internacional at first; it sounded a bit grand for an Albergue. After staying there, though, I think it earns the name. The facilities were the best I’ve seen at any Albergue. Beds were already made with cotton sheets and pillowcases, and they supplied blankets, a personal cotton towel, and soap by the handbasins, which is useful for hygiene. The reception and guest lounge are comfortable, and the outdoor deck looks out over Sarria toward the distant hills. The bar hospitality was really pleasant too. My only small criticism is that there’s no guest kitchen, though I didn’t need one myself.

Being around such lovely people made it a great experience. Juan and Joaquin made me feel right at home.

A really nice older couple runs this very clean place, right on the Camino de Santiago. It isn’t listed on booking.com, so it may still have space when other places are full.

The owner was so kind, and the albergue was spotless. A lovely place to stop on our cammino. I’d recommend staying here during your cammino or while visiting Sarria.
