Hotel Restaurante El Castillo De Olmillos

We were staying nearby in the park by the petrol station for the night, so this is a review of the restaurant. They start serving at 9:00. The service was friendly and very good, and the menus were great value. We tried white beans, Castilian soup, oxtail and lamb, and every dish was superb. The desserts were excellent too.

We stayed one night on the way to the ferry at Santander and will definitely return. The price was very good, parking was available, and it's right by the route, so easy to find and leave. The hostal is being refurbished, but the work didn't affect our stay and the renovations are being done tastefully. Everything was immaculately clean, with free WiFi and TV, and the staff were accommodating. We ate at the bar/cafe across the road that belongs to the hostal. They were very friendly, with good basic food and great wine, and there's a lovely outdoor space with castle views.

A great stop on the road. The place looks like a castle, and the service was excellent. They have a tasty, varied Spanish menu, with a full three-course meal and a drink for just 13 euros.

The free parking felt safe, breakfast was included, and there's a bar and restaurant right across the way, plus a gas pump close by. The location is handy for getting onto the freeway. If you can, go in person instead of booking online, the price is very good. It saved me in the middle of my road trip.
