We’ve already booked our return for next year. Can Gat Vell made a great base: it was peaceful, yet beaches were about a 20-minute drive away and several good restaurants were within 10 minutes. We spent three lovely weeks there in July this year. The apartment was spotless and had everything we needed, and Isabelle replied right away whenever we had a question. The pool, gardens and shared tables were always pristine. We especially liked the views, relaxed atmosphere and gentle breeze by the pool. Every part of our stay was excellent, and Isabelle was a fantastic host. We’d highly recommend it.

I really wish I could've stayed longer. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the shared area has a fridge, laundry and BBQ. The natural-water pool is amazing. Isabelle was the best part, with endless suggestions for things to do nearby. CatVell is close to lots of attractions and a beautiful coastline.

We felt safe at Can Gat Vell during our two-week family stay in the El Mirador apartment last July and August, despite the COVID situation. The place was very clean, and Isabelle made sure the hygiene rules were followed. We were a family of four with children aged 8 and 6, and had a really pleasant time. The region is lovely, with plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy with kids, and Isabelle can point you to all the information you need.

This rural home sits peacefully on the edge of the old village of Llampeis, with Pyrenees views from the doorstep and the Costa Brava coast a short drive away. It’s also only minutes from the National 2 road, with easy access to Girona and Barcelona airports, and to Girona and Figueres. The family-run El Gat Vell offers three traditional stone houses, beautifully decorated and well equipped, arranged flexibly for private stays by couples, families or groups of up to 35. Facilities include a pool, barbecues, games room, animal corner, children’s play area and private parking. Isabelle is a kind, understanding and helpful host, running the place with professional care and attention to detail you’d expect from a five-star establishment.
