The staff were great, breakfast was good, and the building has a clean, slightly quirky feel. We had a lovely time, though we came away with a few bruises. The place seems built for people under 175 cm 😁. The beds were about 20 cm too short for us Northern Europeans and rock hard, the shower was ridiculously low, and the toilet area was so narrow I nearly got stuck and bumped my head.

The receptionist was rude, and the room really needs updating. The bed is old and creaks whenever you shift, and you have to ask reception to change the air conditioning temperature. The sockets also felt unsafe: plugging in my phone charger caused a spark.

Being right in the city center, almost on Plaza Mayor, made it handy for sightseeing. The man at reception was very helpful and let us leave our things longer because we were staying in the city beyond our booking. The room was fine for four, though two of the beds felt like makeshift couches converted into passable beds.

We paid EUR 27 each for 80 minutes at the spa, which felt worth doing once. Guests get a discount, and you need to reserve. At our 7 pm slot it was quiet, though it filled up around 7:30 and 8, and the space is small. We liked the sauna, hot jet room, and heated chair and bed; the jacuzzi pool was only lukewarm. The hotel itself is wonderfully clean, with firm beds and lovely front desk staff. It’s right beside Plaza Mayor, on the main street leading to the aqueduct.

The staff were really friendly and polite, and the place is a nice restored building. Our room and beds were a good size, and everything was clean. You can walk to the Alcazar, cathedral, and Aqueduct. The spa was being maintained while we were there, so we couldn’t use it. We’d stay again if we come back to Segovia.
